Ask your MP to publicly support the Thrive by Five bill

Our Thrive by Five community knows better than most the challenges created by Australia’s early childhood education and care system.

There are massive childcare deserts, where families can’t find early childhood education and care. Too many families face barriers like the Activity Test that stop them from accessing early learning and out of pocket costs are soaring.

That’s why we have publicly launched a bill that would enshrine the right of every child to access early learning, so that they can Thrive by Five.

If passed it would:

  • cap the cost of early learning at $10 a day for most families – and free for low-income families,
  • make high quality early childhood education and care a right for all children regardless of where they live and their parents’ circumstances, and
  • set up a commission to oversee the implementation of these reforms.

This would be a total game-changer for every child, every parent, every early childhood educator, right across the country and we want to get as many MPs to make a public show of support for it.

Every MP that stands up and publicly says they support this bill brings us one step closer to having it introduced into Parliament and voted into law. And once it’s the law, our political leaders are forced to deliver the universal, affordable and high quality early learning system we have been fighting for.

To help make that happen, your local MP needs to hear directly from you and as many Thrive by Five supporters in your local community as possible asking that they publicly declare that they support our bill.

When MPs hear from the people that elected them, they pay attention and the more people they hear from, the more they know they need to act.

Sending an email to your local MP asking them to publicly support our campaign will have a huge impact and it only takes a moment. Use the form here to send your email today.
