Join Berry Street and Thrive by Five for an online forum discussing the value of teaching self-regulation in tackling challenging behaviours and helping children to grow up safe, thriving and hopeful.

In this event, we will explore how to best support and teach self-regulation to children who exhibit challenging behaviour in response to significant adversity or developmental trauma.

We’ll cover:

  • Why children may exhibit challenging behaviour
  • Identifying the warning signs of challenging behaviour
  • Ways that parents can encourage their children to self-regulate their reactions; and
  • How we can address this in the classroom to ensure that children are ready to learn from teachers who are equipped to nurture them

Host: Annette Jackson, Adjunct Associate Professor, La Trobe University; Executive Director Statewide Services, Berry Street

Special Guest: Georgie Dent, Executive Director of The Parenthood

And a panel of experts including Director of Berry Street’s State-wide Therapeutic Service Dr. Allison Cox, Principal of Berry Street School Joanne Alford for a Q&A session, and Berry Street Director of Education Dr. Tom Brunzell.
