Every child – no matter their postcode – should have access to high quality, affordable early learning and childcare.
But for too many Australians living in rural and remote areas, this just isn’t the case.
More than half of regional, rural and remote families can’t easily access early learning, due to a lack of services and availability, meaning that children are missing out on these learning opportunities in the critical first five years of their life.
Children growing up in the country are twice as likely as city children to start school developmentally vulnerable – making it hard for them to catch up.
It’s time children, families and early childhood educators in the country were given a truly universal, high quality and affordable early learning system. That’s why we’re calling on the Federal Government to reform the early learning system. Will you add your name to the petition?
