MINDEROO FOUNDATION’S THRIVE BY FIVE CAMPAIGN CELEBRATES LANDMARK MILESTONE OF REACHING 100,000 SUPPORTERS

15 August 2023 – Minderoo Foundation’s Thrive by Five campaign has reached the milestone of 100,000 supporters from across the nation in support of universally accessible, affordable, high-quality early childhood education and care.

The official supporter list is representative of the broader movement of parents of young children, women, educators, allied professionals, experts and academics and others with an interest in child development and wellbeing who have come together to demand early learning reform.

Their hard work and advocacy elevated childcare as an election at last year’s Federal election and at several state polls and it remains on the national agenda of both the community and political leaders.

Minderoo Foundation’s Jay Weatherill said: “We started three years ago with a vision for early learning reform, we’ve brought together a movement who are passionate supporters for change, and now we want to build on our significant wins with a push for decade-long childcare reform.”

“A universal early learning system gives children the best start in life, transforms families and communities and can unleash greater productivity and economic benefits.

“Universally accessible early learning is critical national infrastructure and a legacy from our generation to the next, and from our political leaders to the leaders and citizens of tomorrow.

“We will be growing the movement in coming months, redoubling our engagement and storytelling and showing the way for a bold transformation of early childhood education and care in Australia,” Mr Weatherill said.
