Women should be able to make the choices that work for them—but right now, government policy is holding them back.
Up to 101,620 women would join or rejoin the workforce if the Childcare Activity Test was abolished – and our economy would get a $4.4 billion boost!
These are just some of the incredible findings of a report by Impact Economics and Policy that was released just last week.
As the report shows, the Activity Test is preventing parents – usually mothers – from joining or rejoining the workforce. It also means children are missing out on the early learning opportunities they deserve.
One thing is very clear; it’s time for this confusing and complicated “test” to be abolished.
That’s why we want to hear from you – because real stories from real people change hearts and minds. We want to hear from as many people as possible who are being affected by the Activity Test, so we can shine a light on the impact it’s having on parents and children.
Will you take a moment to share your story about how the Activity Test is affecting you or your family?
