Tell the National Cabinet that we need early learning on the agenda

The NSW and Victorian Governments have made a historic joint announcement today that will transform early learning for families in these states. They are introducing an extra year of play-based early learning the year before school.

This comes after the NSW Government’s announcements earlier this week of a $5 billion package to make early learning and childcare more accessible and affordable for people living in NSW, and a $1.4 billion package to make preschool more affordable.

This is a life-changing reform from the country’s biggest states – and it shows that the NSW, Victorian and Federal Governments are all committed to reforming the early learning system.

This puts enormous pressure on the other states and territories. With National Cabinet meeting this Friday in Canberra, we have an opportunity to get all of the other states and territories on board too!

Will you send the State and Territory leaders an email now, asking them to put early learning reform on the National Cabinet agenda? It’s time they worked together to ensure every child has access to the early learning opportunities they deserve.
